Steps solved my issue after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows Since these machines were upgraded from Windows 7 and not a clean install, I had to make the changes in the registry. I finally have VPN access and no longer have to de my work laptop around! I have absolutely no wifi showing on my laptop, yet the drivers were installed correctly.

I upgraded to 10 from 7 and didn't have that issue. Changing the display name in registry really did the trick for me.
I finally got this working and now don't receive the reason error. Then finally the Cisco VPN client and it should work. At a loss, I installed the Shrew client.
